Campus Living Information
Jerusalem Housing:
Accommodations are provided at the Christ Church Guest House, located within the Old City of Jerusalem, inside the Jaffa Gate. Shared dorm living includes personal bathrooms in each room and access to common kitchen and laundry facilities.
Internet:
The guest house offers internet connection, and high-speed options are available in nearby coffee shops.
Money Exchange:
For currency exchange, we recommend ATM withdrawals or debit card usage.
Attire:
Certain tour sites have specific attire requirements (long pants or skirts, shoulder-covering tops). Prepare for daily living within both Jewish and Islamic cultures. Good walking/hiking shoes are essential.
Weather:
In February and March, Jerusalem can be cold, so bring warm clothing. April and May warm up, requiring lighter attire. For the fall semester, August and September are hot, turning colder by November.
Toiletries:
While available locally, toiletries can be expensive. Consider bringing your own if on a tight budget.
Health Care:
Medical insurance coverage in Israel is mandatory for all attendees.
Electrical Outlets:
Adaptors H and C are used in Israel. You’ll need an adaptor (not a converter) for your electronics. Purchase adaptors locally, but avoid bringing American appliances, as Israel’s electricity is more sensitive.
Sim Cards:
If you have an unlocked phone, purchasing a local sim card with prepaid phone service and internet is easy and cost-effective.
Coffee:
Coffee presses are available for student use.
Note:
Travel outside of Israel during the 3-month Study Tour is prohibited.
